Speeding Mother Nature Along...

If Mother Nature won't make it snow in Alabama in October, well we'll just have to take matters into our own hands.  I'm making my first attempt at homemade, organic vanilla extract this year and in the process had to purchase some beautiful glass bottles.  Those bottles came from a very eco-friendly company who used biodegradable packing peanuts in shipment.  Life is just too short to unpack a lovely shipment like that and throw the peanuts away.  So, we dumped them all... yes, ALL... on the floor and had a blast with them.

Step 1: Dump all peanuts on floor.

Step 2: lay on peanuts and "teach" the kids who have
never seen snow (or don't remember living in it) what
a snow angel looks like.

Step 3: let older kid give it a try.  She's a pro!

Step 4: give the baby a whack at it.  Not so much a pro.

Step 5: everybody grab an extremity and do it for her.

Step 6: commence snowball fight!

Step 7: double team daddy until he begs for mercy, or
promises to give cookies until we pop... or both.

Step 8: sit down for afternoon tea and a good book with daddy.
All in all, I'd like to think we're pretty prepared in case Mother Nature wants to bless us with a snow storm this winter.  We have practiced our snow angel techniques, and learned all of daddy's weak spots in a snow ball fight.  Now, all we need is for some freezing precipitation gently floating from the sky!
